The Connecting Europe Conference 2017 organised by the Directorate-General for mobility and transport (DG MOVE) of the European Commission was held in Tallinn, Estonia, September 21st & 22nd, 2017, related to the Estonian EU Presidency 2017.
Focus of the Conference was the identification of policies, as well as financing for investment in the transport sector in terms of the EU financial framework after 2020.
The European Inland Barging Innovation Platform (EIBIP) and the German innovation centre D-ZIB promoting the uptake of green technology and efficient sailing by the inland waterway transport sector, had a joint booth with three other EU-projects: CLINSH (Clean Inland Shipping); PROMINENT and LNG-Breakthrough.
Many conference participants visited the booth and were informed about the future of Inland Navigation in terms of greening technologies and the exchange of information and expertise through the platform and the innovation centres.
